This morning one of our Business Friends asked me where I got my inspiration from for the things I write about. I thought you’d be interested in my response.
Many of you know I use my “National Days Calendar” as inspiration (take last week’s issue here around “juggling” as an example!).
I also love taking inspiration from music. On the school run in my daughter’s cute little Mini (she drives there on L plates, I drive back!), we listen to a truly ecclectic playlist, music spanning from the 60’s to current day, from classical to rock and always with enthusiastic karaoke-esque singing from both of us!
This morning I noted the lyrics to Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Were Made For Walking”, namely:
“You keep saming when you ought to be a-changing” and this reminded me of the below visual.
Have a think about what this song lyric and visual means to you.
It’s great isn’t it when we do things a certain way (likely the way we’ve always done them and which feels comfortable to us)? We know what results to expect and how things are likely to turn out.
But think about this. If we don’t try things in a different way, how do we know we’re not missing out on a better, more efficient, more favourable way of doing something – and perhaps a better, more efficient, more favourable result?
