Welcome to 🍏Lunch N Learn with Lindsay🍏 Issue 190. I’m packing up my little car for a trip into London for this week’s PA Show and can’t wait to meet existing and new clients. I’m hoping my 6am start on Wednesday means the M25 will be kind to me (send good vibes everyone!) and I have that all-important ecclectic playlist ready for the drive… Talking of “time”, I met with a friend last night for a cheeky glass of wine at our cute local pub. My friend has recently retired. She used to work in a school as a Teaching Assistant and I asked her how it felt not to be gearing back into “work mode” and school term today. My friend was excited but also a little “lost” about what her week would look like and we mentioned the benefits of having a bit of a routine – so you have things to look forward to and can have a structure to your days. This reminded me of “time-blocking” which was discussed at the recent Essential PA Programme “Managing your Workload” Unit delivery. According to www,todoist.com, time-blocking is ” a time management method that asks you to divide your day into blocks of time. Each block is dedicated to accomplishing a specific task or group of tasks, and only those specific tasks.” There’s a fantastic article here for you to read, digest and, as ever, put all your newfound skills into practice. |
