Lunch and Learn with Lindsay – Issue 196: Challenge the status quo & be innovative

Welcome to 🍏Lunch N Learn with Lindsay🍏 Issue 196.
..

…and a continuation of the learning to expand on the Lunch n Learn LIVE Session “Leadership Level up for EAs and PAs” (which you can purchase here if you missed it.).

Here’s a reminder of the characteristics of a leader according to Bennis and introduced in Issue 194.

Today we’ll hone in on the identification that leaders “challenge the status quo” and they are innovative.

EAs and PAs we are in privileged positions – we see, hear and experience what’s happening in our organisations from “the shop floor” to the Board Room table.  Couple this with a mindset of continual improvement (satisfying the “innovates” characteristic) and you are perfectly positioned to put forward ideas and proposals to elevate your working practices and contribute to the success of your teams and organisation.

Be assertive in your communication when challenging the status quo.  You can read more here.

Ensure you communicate with IMPACT which you can read more about here.

Hold the belief that “if you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got”.  Is there a better, more effecient way of doing something?

How do you, or will you, challenge the status quo at your organisation?
