Welcome to this week’s #LunchNLearnWithLindsay and I hope you are enjoying the festive holiday period?  

I debated not sending a message out today given many of you will have your “Out of Office” on (and, if you’re anything like me, you’re probably confused on what day of the week it is and what you’re “meant to be doing” during the days between Christmas and New Year!!).

I attended “How to be a PA with PA – Perfect Awareness". I was a little unsure at first but it turned out to be one of the best courses I have attended for a while. Lindsay put our small group at ease instantly and adapted well when a power outage meant we didn’t have a screen. The course was the perfect mix of group discussions, work in pairs, independent ideas and fun tasks. I have been running Queen Bee with my business partner for over 5 years, but have always taken a back seat with the finances. Taking part in the Principles of Finance course was my way of getting a grip on some of the basics, so that I could participate more fully in the financial decisions of the company and better understand my clients’ businesses. Malcolm really de-mystified a lot of the finance jargon and I came away feeling far more confident about tackling things such as Balance Sheets, P&L and forecasting. The worksheets were really helpful and will be a great reference tool for me in the future. I’m really pleased that I took the time to do the course – it was well overdue!
