Lunch and Learn with Lindsay – Issue 102 – Inspiration

I had an interesting conversation with a client this morning who asked where I got my inspiration from for these #LunchNLearnWithLindsay issues.

I let her know that I draft my issues a week in advance and the content reads “Insert something rivetting” for a few days whilst I mull over what I can share with you that is going to be the most beneficial, impactful and thought-provoking!

There’s one simple (although probably complex!) answer to where I do get my inspiration from and that is  “EVERYWHERE! “.  I approach life with a learning mindset – believing that I’ll learn something of value each and every day.  I’m always on the look-out for gems of wisdom that I can learn from.

Last week, Malcolm and I took some time out to visit the Isle of Skye on a very enjoyable #WeeScottishAdventure.  After a rather gorgeous meal in a rather gorgeous hotel we retired to the lounge area and the cosiness of a roaring log fire.  I picked an old, leather-bound book from the mantelpiece and curled up on the sofa to immerse myself in the read.

I LOVE an old book – the yellowed pages, that musty-wise smell holding the magic that thoroughout tens of years others have also enjoyed the content that I’m soaking up!

So, when I got back home I ordered a copy of this fantastic book and it is currently my favourite source of inspiration and gracing the coffee table in my lounge.

Herbert V Prochnow’s “Speaker’s Handbook of Epigrams and Witticisms” contains some absolute gems!  Including the quote below for you to mull over today.

I’ll be drawing more inspiration from this book for sure!

If “making time count” today is important to you, remember I’m hosting a Virtual Open Lunch event at 1230 (BST) and there’s still time to sign up here.

I’ll be sharing details of our NEW Essential PA Programme and answering all your questions and would love for you to be in attendance!

So, where does the inspiration come from for these #LunchNLearnWithLindsay emails? Read more to find out...
