Lunch and Learn with Lindsay – Issue 134 : Fa la la la la…

So, how are you?

How are you really?

It’s easy, isn’t it, to robotically respond to the first question with “fine, thanks”.

But maybe, just maybe, when questioned again with the addition of “really“, it gets you to be a tad more honest…

Let’s face it.  It’s a busy time of year for lots of us.  We’re juggling 1) the demands of our Exec and teams keen to complete projects and “clear the decks” for a festive break with 2) our own plans to “deck the halls with bows of holly” whilst 3) “FA LA LA LA LA”ing with festive cheer rather than wearing a Scrooge-like scowl!

I, for one, am ready for some “down time” over the festive period.   “Running low on fumes” and at the end of a busy day delivering training, it took a lot of self-talk to get myself in gear to head into London for my first Christmas party with PA Life last week.  I attended in my official capacity as a Judge for the PA Life Star Awards 2022 and, wow!, was I so glad I mustered up the motivation to attend!  What a sparkly affair (of the Prosecco and decor variety!).

Welcome to anyone new to my 🍏Lunch n Learn with Lindsay🍏 issues who attended the PA Life party too and, of course, huge congratulations to all the worthy finalists and winners who you can read about here

Remember, at crazy busy times, when there’s lots going on, it’s paramount that you manage your energy.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – you can’t pour from an empty cup.  Take care of yourself first.

My sejourn into London renewed my “spiritual energy” because it combined lots of my LOVES and doing the things that make me feel alive (being part of London, networking, advocating and supporting this profession, quaffing Prosecco and donning gladrags if you were wondering what some of those things are for me!)

Revisit my article and video here on this topic.

Let’s ensure your “FA LA LA”ing is enthusiastic, heartfelt and true and here’s to more sparkly affairs over the coming weeks!
