Here is Issue 182 of 🍏Lunch N Learn with Lindsay🍏 and it’s the final Issue of 2023! My office here at Your Excellency HQ has been a bit like Santas Grotto recently – it has been a “holding bay” for gifts and a wrapping station too. Finally, yesterday I finished all the wrapping and I’m pretty pleased with my Pinterest inspired wrapping decor this year (see photo below!). Early this morning I moved the gifts to under the tree in the lounge and then set about polishing and vacuuming my work space back to a work space! Yay! I could feature this room in Homes & Gardens magazine again… During my cleaning blitz, I got well sidetracked when I tidied up my bookcase as I opened my”Speaker’s Handbook of Epigrams and Witticisms” (read LNL Issue 102 here to find out more!). And it’s this lovely, musty-smelling old book that I’m using for inspiration for today’s post. I’ve cherry picked some favourite epigrams/witticisms from the word “EDUCATION”. I hope they make you frown, smile and giggle like I’ve done. As ever, food for thought! EDUCATION Training is everything. The peach was once a bitter almond; cauliflower is but cabbage with a college education. Mark Twain Education…has produced a vast population able to read but unable to distinguish what is worth reading. George Macaulay Trevelyan The great difficulty in education is to get experience out of ideas. George Santayana The first thing education teaches you is to walk alone. Trader Horn |
