| Welcome to Issue 262. Hello to you from beautiful Kotor in Montenegro where I’m spending this week. Our apartment has the most magnificent vista over the Bay and it’s a delight in the morning to open the curtains and watch the changing colours of the water as the sun comes up over the mountains. When we arrived here on Saturday there was a vast cruise ship in port which blocked some of our view of the old walled city. It was fascinating watching the ship doing an “about turn” and departing yesterday and then being able to see much of the city that had been hidden from our view. Which got me to thinking about perspective and awareness. Our view is based on what we can see in plain sight. We often forget or are unaware of what lies beyond our initial view and what is hidden from us. Being curious in all situations can expand your awareness and understanding. Remember the Johari Window model I introduced you to several Issues previously? If you missed this or want to revisit this fantastic model for “food for thought” today, you can read more here. Take a look around you now. What can you see? What can’t you see? Is your view or perspective blocked? What’s stopping you from seeing “the whole picture”and what obstacles need to do an “about turn”to reveal this? |
