Lunch and Learn with Lindsay – Issue 47: 10 things to be grateful for as a 21st century PA: Part 5

Welcome to a new #LunchNLearnWithLindsay mail out.  I do hope this message finds you well?

This is a continuation of the 10 things to be grateful for as a 21st century PA and we are on the Fifth Thing (you can catch up on Previous Things here!).

The Fifth Thing :  Networking

Networking plays an important part in ensuring you are successful and supported in this profession, whether networking virtually/through social media or physically/in person (when the world reopens and the threat of Covid passes of course!).

Interestingly, The Institute of Employment Studies cites 60% of your career progression can be attributed to networking.  Take a read of my latest blog post “The HELLO Strategy to Networking” which originally featured as a cover article for Executive Support (previously Executive Secretary) Magazine back in 2015.

There are some amazing networking events  available to us as 21st century administrative professionals. These events give you an opportunity to socialise and share ideas with other admin professionals, you get to tour interesting venues, relax at the end of the day, be inspired by other admin pros, trainers or speakers and you can win prizes, win friends and win valuable contacts….

A comprehensive list of PA Networking Groups across the world can be found on Executive Support Magazine’s Associations page.  I know many of the UK PA Network owners personally, so if you want an introduction, let me know and I will happily connect you so you can say “HELLO”!
