Lunch and Learn with Lindsay – Issue 112 – Well Formed Outcomes

In the next few issues of these beneficial LunchNLearnWithLindsay messages, I’m going to be sharing bite-size information for you on achieving your goals (or Outcomes).

I’ll be working through a Model called the “Well Formed Outcomes” Model (pictured below).

This Model will help you set the success rate for achieving the things you need and want to achieve.  Applying the Model will ensure a “robustness” to your outcomes so they are truly well-formed.

So, let’s start with the centre circle of the Model and idenfiying an outcome that is “positive and up to you”.  Identify what it is you need or want to achieve.  What is your goal?  What is your outcome? Maybe there’s something you’ve been putting off achieving because you haven’t had time to fully think about it?   Now is your opportunity to do this!

✔Make sure you apply SMART and Locke & Latham’s criteria to your identified outcome.

✔Make sure you use positive, Towards, Tigger! language.  Identify what you “WILL” achieve.  Remember, using the word “WILL” adds a “definite-ness” to your goal – this isn’t about what you would like or want to achieve, it’s about what you WILL achieve!

✔Now write down your outcome.  Keep it handy for next week’s issue when I’ll talk you through applying the first stage of the Model, Creative Visualisation.
