Did you know that today is “Sherlock Holmes Day”? It’s marked every year on 22nd May because it’s also the character’s creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s birthday (born 1859).
Holmes is probably one of the most well known fictional detectives revered for expert observation, deduction and reasoning, solving “whodunnits” with flair, expertise and a dash of eccentricity too!
This got me to thinking about some of the characteristics needed to solve problems and reminded me of a blog post I wrote here.
Remember, it’s good practice to seek out problems to solve – we should be constanty evauating the effectiveness and efficiency of our systems, processes and procedures. We need to combine logical and lateral (creative sometimes eccentric!) thinking too.
So channel your Sherlock Holmes observation, deduction and reasoning skills (deerstalker optional!) as you head into your working week.
