Lunch and Learn with Lindsay – Issue 202: The Power of Networking

Welcome to 🍏Lunch N Learn with Lindsay🍏 Issue 202.

Last week I had the absolute pleasure to exhibit and speak at PA Forum’s Learning and Development Conference.  It was such a fantastic event and my LinkedIn feed has been “on fire” ever since with all manner of positive comments.

The value of getting EAs, PAs, VAs and Business Support Professionals together in person is incredible.  We are a hugely supportive profession keen to learn from each other and the “networking” element of the Conference was superb.  As many of you know, orchestrating a successful event is no mean feat so Bravo! to everyone involved and thank you to Edwin Ladd for his  photos of the event including me in my regular “jazz hands” pose whilst in full training flow!!

I get super excited by the saying “everyone knows something you don’t”.

During any training sessions we deliver here at Your Excellency we encourage our learners to share their ideas and knowledge with each other and to use the sessions as “networking”, which according to research from the Institute of Employment Studies, accounts for 60% of your career progression!

There’s some fantastic tips on networking in my archive post here : The HELLO Strategy to NetworkingAnd (going with an “apple” theme!) how great is this George Bernard Shaw quote too.

Our friends over at Executive Support Magazine have a super resource of Associations and Networks across the world which you can access here.  I would encourage you to find out if there’s a network near you that you can join.  We work with many of these Associations so if you want an email introduction to the owner(s), just let me know!

Happy networking everyone!
