Welcome to 🍏Lunch N Learn with Lindsay🍏 Issue 204. I’m writing today’s issue with a big smile on my face after a glorious few days away in the Pembrokeshire countryside with a group of lovely friends. We took the ferry over to Skomer Island and spent the day meeting the comical little puffins in beautiful scenery. Naively I hadn’t expected to see so many puffins (in hides with their young called “pufflings” – what a great word that is!) and the colourful flowers and plants that cover the island were an absolute unexpected visual treat. Glorious! It was really interesting how our group of 4 ladies stepped into roles that tapped into our characters, quirks and expertise. The designated driver had satnav set up each morning as we ventured out for the day’s adventure, the breakfast dishes were washed and the holiday home was cleaned each morning before we set off, the evening meal bills were split equally by the finance expert…. This reminded me of one of the “maintaining boundaries” ways of saying “no”, that ensures you pull together as a team and work in collaboration to optimise each other’s expertise (and love) of tasks. Maintaining boundaries and “saying no” was the topic of our most recent Lunch n Learn LIVE session, more details of which is here. The success of any team relies on working together and leveraging expertise. Having clarity of your own strengths is important so ensure you conduct a regular personal SWOT. Wishing you a productive working week and for the sun worshippers like me here in the UK, enjoy that yellow button in the sky! |
