| Welcome to 🍏Lunch n Learn with Lindsay🍏 Issue 234 “Why the photo of a pork pie?” I hear you cry! Well, my lovelies, let me tell you! Last weekend, Malcolm and I headed to Melton Mowbray and had a go at making pork pies! We had so much fun with our learning and it got me to thinking about what actually happens when you’re learning and how that fun element is so important if you want a memorable experience. When you learn a new skill, your brain creates and strengthens synaptic connections—those tiny pathways where nerve cells communicate. The more you practice, the stronger those connections get. It’s like building a superhighway in your mind! 🛤️🔗 Research indicates that when you’re genuinely enjoying what you’re learning, it’s far more likely to stick. Studies have found that learning through play or fun activities boosts information retention by up to 30%! And when you’re in a good mood, your brain releases dopamine—a chemical that not only makes you happy but also improves memory and learning. 🧠💡 So whether you’re picking up a new hobby, taking a course, or just experimenting with something creative, make it FUN. You’re not just learning—you’re rewiring your brain! That fun element is something we emphasise during our Your Excellency training sessions – as well as providing practical, relevant and instantly-useable skills we make sure you’re enjoying the learning experience! What’s a new skill or hobby you’ve recently learned? Do let me know! And, for our learners and Graduates who have experienced our learning style, what was the most fun session you’ve joined us for? |
