Welcome to Issue 174 of 🍏Lunch N Learn with Lindsay🍏.

I’m on my travels again and this issue is winging its way to you from Athens in Greece.  Today and tomorrow I’m delivering a bespoke training course to a corporate client’s Admin team.  I can’t wait to share lots of beneficial learning with them!

I’m still grinning from ear to ear having been surprised at last week’s Strategic PA Network Awards evening when I was awarded “Outstanding Contribution of the Year 2023”.  You can read more here! 

It is my absolute pleasure to support the EA and PA community and the image below really sums it up for me.  I do what I LOVE and I LOVE what I do!  My award-win and amazing comments from so many on the LinkedIn thread got me to thinking about my ability to create engagement with others.  I’m genuinely interested in YOU and what’s important in your world and I ensure I give my full attention to anyone who is talking to me.
 
Exploring Athens yesterday (slightly achey legs today!), I found myself in the Monastiraki Flea Market area and took this photo.

Creating the best engagement with someone is about pausing what’s going on for you, inviting them to “take a seat”, sitting next to them and practicing “whole body listening”. 

It’s about being “in the moment” to really hear what they are saying and sharing with you.  It’s also being perceptive and noticing what they aren’t saying to you…

(Editors Note!! I’m not sure what the graffiti says – one assumes it’s Greek – so apologies if it’s anything bad!).
