Lunch and Learn with Lindsay – Issue 10: You can’t pour from an empty jug. Take care of yourself first

The UK Government is doing what they can to support the population during these unprecedented times – 50% off at restaurants, payments for employers who hire new apprentices and bonuses to companies who un-furlough employees

On the other side of the pond, millions of Americans have received stimulus cheques to try to stimulate spending and boost the economy.

Around the globe, governments are trying their best to find ways to help their citizens.

We recognise that not everybody will have benefited or been supported in the way they would have hoped from their government’s actions. We also recognise that perhaps your employer isn’t supporting you in the way you would have liked.

Perhaps your work-from-home scenario isn’t ideal as you juggle work and home demands – with partners, children or pets wanting and needing your attention. How frustrating is it when your children or pets have been perfectly quiet and well behaved until the very moment that you take that important call or hit the “join” button for a Zoom session?! #beentheredonethat.

As we all adjust to this new normal, it’s important to recognise that the most important entity that will support you during these strange times is YOU.

YOU need to be proactive in tapping into the resources and help you need to maintain your energy, focus and motivation and to bullet-proof your career for the future.

Here’s 3 simple things you can do now:

1. Join our Private Learning Facebook Group here

We are a friendly, supportive group with just over 100 members at the time of writing.  Everyone is sharing best practice and advice and I’m posting regular unique and helpful content that is sure to keep you motivated and inspired.

2. Watch our “M is for Managing your Energy” bite-size training session here.

Make sure you give yourself feedback on the changes you will make that will make all the difference to YOU.

3.  Read my new blog post on “The 5 undeniable benefits of accredited training and qualifications” here.

As ever, I’m here to support you so please do keep in touch.

With my best wishes for a good week

With regards
Lindsay
